Ok, I just had one of the most frightening experiences of my life... about 8:30pm tonihgt, on I-30 heading into Dallas. I was on my way to pick up Mom and Charles from Love Field and it was raining. Suddenly out of nowhere a car from the inside lane came perpendicular to my car (outside lane) , hit the concrete thing and flipped over in from of me. I got around the car, stopped and called 911. I just didn't want there to be a dead body in there when I got to the car. Me and a few others who stopped ran to the car there was a girl inside and she was sitting on the ceiling of the car. She was crying and shaking and holding her head, but no blood. she was talking and breathing... she wanted out of the upside-down car. We tried to make her stay in until the ambulance came, but she wanted out. A few of us got her out of the passenger door and got her to the side of the road. Her name is Chastity. Me and a Hispanic lady made her sit down. We held her hands and told her the ambulance was coming. Then she said "Seizure, I am gonna have a seizure," and passed out. We were trying to lay her down when she began to convulse violently. It was so scary. I was at her head and trying to keep her from smahing her head into the tarmac. Oh man, it was crazy, like something on TV. It was pouring rain, the only light was from car headlights, her car was upside down on the freeway, here I am on the side of the road in my dressy work clothes squatting down and trying to keep a convulsing stanger from hurting herself. She seized a few more times. By now, the lady had called for her teen daughter to come help us, everyone else had left. The daughter wedged her knees under Chastity's shoulders and I was still trying to cradle her head. I know it was probably only 5 minutes until the fire trucks adn ambulance came, but it seemed like I held her head forever. I didn't even realize how wet and cold I was until I got back into my car. Before we got her out of the car, she asked for a phone and used mine to dial a friend. I talked to the friend who was going to call Chastity's mom. I called her back when I knew where the ambulance was taking her. Man, I hope I never get a call like that from a stranger, "Hi, um your friend_______ was in a car accident, they are going to such-and-such hospital." I think I will call that number when I get back from Korea, to see how Chastity did. I know she is epileptic, she had on a Medical Alert bracelt. It is so strange, human behavior. I was stroking her hair and telling her it was all going to be ok. I didn't even know her, had never seen her before. The other lady kept telling her, "It is OK, you are not alone, we are right here. We will be here with you when the ambulance comes." The paramedics were great. They got to her really quickly and double checked to make sure none of us had been injured. It was a single car accident, thankfully. I hope she is going to be ok. I need a stiff drink and a hot bath.
